I am energized by the challenge set out to alumni by a longtime Holy Cross family. The
3 in 5 Participation Challenge is simple, but powerful. With the help of many invested alumni, we have climbed to a tremendous plateau—55 percent participation in recent years. At 55 percent in 2012, we were among the top 9 colleges in the nation for alumni participation. The hope behind
3 in 5 is to motivate alumni to push the College even higher….to 60 percent in the coming years. If we can achieve 60 percent participation in giving to the College, we will be among the very top in the country. As a volunteer, I am awed and inspired by the generosity of this anonymous family, and will do my best to help the College move toward achieving this goal. We are reaching for
56 percent in 2013 and if we get there, this family will give the College an additional $1 million. I hope all alumni take this wonderful opportunity to give back and show your love for Holy Cross with a gift of any size!

Continues a tradition
Gifts to the Holy Cross Fund have an immediate impact, supporting the College's highest priorities. With more than 60 percent of students receiving some form of financial assistance, current-use gifts toward financial aid are essential to Holy Cross. Current-use gifts toward faculty resources enable the College to recruit and retain a first-class teaching faculty and maintain a faculty to student ratio of 11:1.
Alumni participation in giving to the College consistently surpasses 50 percent, placing Holy Cross among the top 10 colleges and universities in the nation ... a proud Holy Cross tradition.

In light of the economic climate, Holy Cross reaffirms our commitment to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students. We also remain committed to attracting and retaining the very best faculty and giving them the tools to provide our students with the finest education possible.

President's Council members provide critical funding for the College's most pressing needs, contributing more than half of all dollars given to the College each year.
